1983 Topps # 482 Tony Gwynn
PSA 9 MINT
73Tony Gwynn was elected into the Hall in 2007 by the BaseBall Writer's Assoc. of America, 1st ballot, (97.61%) as a San Diego Padre. His playing career was from 1982 to 2001, all with the Padres. Tony was a 15 time all star, 5 time Gold Glover, 8 batting titles and in the 3000 hit club. A lifetime average of .338, he never batted under .308 in a season. What I think is another amazing stat is that Tony struck out a total of 434 times in his whole career, that's out of 9288 at bats. I watched Tony play live quite a few times in San Diego & LA, he was the model of consistency and Mr. Padre. Today, Tony's son, Tony Jr, is doing well for my LA Dodgers. The rookie card above is a very well centered PSA MINT 9. MM-04/18/2012
