1991 Upper Deck Final Edition #2F Pedro Martinez
PSA 10 GEM MT
Pedro Martinez was elected into the Hall in 2015 by the BaseBall Writer's Assoc. of America, 1st ballot, (91.1%) as a Boston Redsox. Pedro's playing career was from 1992 to 2009. He was an 8 time all star, 3 time Cy Young winner, a member of the 3000 K club, 2004 World Champion and a lifetime ERA of 2.93. Pedro broke in with the LA Dodgers but Tommy Lasorda thought he was too small framed to be a starting pitcher in the majors, so they let him go in a trade to Montreal, one of Lasorda's few mistakes. From 1997 to 2005, Pedro was the best in the game. During that span he had a record of 149-53 with an ERA of 2.47 & led the league in strikeouts 3 times. Just remarkable numbers for a pitcher during the steroid period. The rookie card above is from an Upper Deck subset and is a perfect GEM MINT 10. MM-07/10/2012
