Ozzie Smith was elected into the Hall in 2002 by the Baseball Writer's Assoc. of America, 1st ballot, (91.7%) first ballot as a St. Louis Cardinal. The "Wizards" playing career was from 1978 to 1996. Ozzie was a 15 time All Star, 1982 WS champion & a 13 time Gold Glover. Ozzie was a defensive specialist for the early part of his career, it wasn't till later that he became a very good hitter & base stealer.
